This 7-day fly-in safari combines the iconic plains of the Serengeti with the raw, untamed wilderness of Ruaha National Park.

Begin in the Serengeti, where vast landscapes and abundant wildlife offer exceptional Big Five sightings and the chance to witness the Great Migration.

You will then fly south to Ruaha, Tanzania’s largest national park, known for its dramatic scenery, large predator populations, and off-the-beaten-path exclusivity.

With seamless air transfers, intimate camps, and expertly guided game drives, this itinerary delivers a diverse and truly authentic Tanzanian safari experience.

Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Transfer to Serengeti, By flight

You will be picked from your Arusha hotel and be transferred to the airport for a flight to Serengeti. You will arrive by mid-morning and be met by guide who will give you the 1st game drive en route to the camp for lunch. Afternoon game driver is at 4p.m.

Overnight: Lemala Kuria Hills Tented Lodge/Serengeti Pioneer Camp/Melia Serengeti Lodge/Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 2 & 3: Serengeti – Full day

You will have a pre-breakfast and afternoon game drives.

Optional activities: : Balloon ride, sun downers, bush breakfasts & guided walks

Overnight: Lemala Kuria Hills Tented Lodge/Serengeti Pioneer Camp/Melia Serengeti Lodge/Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 4: Serengeti – Transfer to Ruaha, by flight (Approx. 2 hours)

Have breakfast and be transferred to the airstrip for a flight to Ruaha departing at mid-morning. Arrive and be met by Camp’s guide who will give you an introductory game drive to the camp. Relax in the afternoon before a game drive at around 4p.m.

Ruaha is known for baobab elephants, all big cats, wild dogs and one of the most pristine wilderness in Southern Tanzania.

Overnight: Jabali Ridge/Kwihala Camp

Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast

 

Day 5 & 6: Ruaha – Full day game drive

Have breakfast then depart with picnic lunches for full-day game drives.

Alternatively, have morning and afternoon game drives.

Optional Activities: Sun downers, bush breakfasts & guided walks

Overnight: Jabali Ridge/Kwihala Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 7: Ruaha – Transfer to Dar by flight (Can connect to Zanzibar or Kilimanjaro)

Have early breakfast, check out of the camp and have a final game drive as you head to the airstrip for a flight to Dar Es Salaam.
