One of Kenya's largest with the most varied wildlife national parks which can be explored on a 3-day safari is the vast Tsavo East National Park. It is fairly easy to get to Tsavo East from the well-known coastal cities like Mombasa, Diani, or Malindi, making it a practical safari alternative for people on beach vacations.

After being picked up from your hotel or resort, your safari will start with a delightful drive or train ride to Tsavo East National Park. As soon as you get there, you'll go on game drives to discover the vast savannah grasslands, riverine forests, and rocky outcrops that make up the park. You are likely to see a variety of wildlife on your game drives, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and buffalo.

You will spend your nights in comfortable lodges or tented camps, where you can relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. With experienced safari guides and well-planned itineraries, a Tsavo East safari is sure to provide an unforgettable wildlife experience.

Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Mombasa, Diani or Malindi - Tsavo East (Approx. 3 hours)

Pick up from your coastal hotel at 7a.m. and immediately drive to Tsavo East which is renowned for its large numbers of elephants and the famous man-eating lions. You will have a game drive as soon as you arrive till lunch time when you head to the lodge for lunch. Another game drive is at 3 or 4-6p.m.

Overnight: Ashnil Aruba Lodge/Satao Camp/Voi Wildlife Lodge

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 2: Tsavo East – Morning & afternoon game drives

Spend this day with morning & afternoon game drives.

Overnight: Ashnil Aruba Lodge/Satao Camp/Voi Wildlife Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 3: Tsavo East – Transfer to Mombasa, Diani or Malindi (Approx. 3 hours)

Have another early morning game drive then return to the lodge for breakfast. Thereafter, depart Tsavo East for coastal town and be dropped at your hotel by 1/2p.m.
