Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Transfer to Lake Nakuru, Approx. 3 hours

Be picked from Nairobi hotel at 7a.m and depart for Lake Nakuru arriving before lunch time. Have a game drive en route to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive is at 3/4p.m.

Overnight: Sarova Lion Hill/The Cliff

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Transfer to Maasai Mara, Approx. 5 hours

Have breakfast and immediately depart for Maasai Mara to arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive is at 3/4 p.m.

Overnight: Zebra Plains Mara Camp or Basecamp Maasai Mara/Sarova Mara Game Camp/Entim Camp/Mara Bush Camp/Kichwa Tembo Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 3 & 4: Maasai Mara – Full day

Spend these 2 whole days with a game drive in search of the big five and many other wildlife that inhabits this beautiful savannah land. This is a game drive that starts as from 8a.m till 4p.m. There will be picnic lunch on the banks of Mara River.

Optional activities: Hot air balloon, Cultural visit & guided nature walks

Overnight: Zebra Plains Mara Camp or Basecamp Maasai Mara/Sarova Mara Game Camp/Entim Camp/Mara Bush Camp/Kichwa Tembo Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 5: Maasai Mara – Transfer to Serengeti, Approx. 7 -8 hours

Have early breakfast then depart for Serengeti passing through Isebania border. Carry packed lunch with you from the lodge because you will arrive at the park past lunch hour. This day you will have a short game drive en route to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Alternatively, take a morning flight to arrive in Serengeti by noon. This flight is not direct and you will connect in Migori/Tarime. There is a short road transfer between the airstrip.

Day 6: Serengeti – Full day

Spend this whole day with either a full-day game drive or morning and afternoon game drives.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 7: Central Serengeti – Transfer to Ndutu Area, Approx. 1-2 hours

Have breakfast then depart to Ndutu. Have a game drive en route to the lodge. Afternoon game drive at 3/4 p.m.

Overnight: Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge/Ndutu Under Canvas/Lemala Ndutu Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 8: Ndutu – Full day

Spend this whole day with either a full-day game drive or morning and afternoon game drives.

Note – February is birthing season in Ndutu area of Serengeti

Overnight: Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge/Ndutu Under Canvas/Lemala Ndutu Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 9: Serengeti - Transfer to Ngorongoro (Approximately 3 hours)

After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy the views and meet some wildlife en route. There will be no other game drive so spend the remaining hours at leisure enjoying walking around the surrounding areas and exploring the lodge’s facilities.

Overnight: Lemala Ngorongoro/Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater – Crater tour – Transfer to Lake Manyara

After breakfast, check out of the lodge with packed-picnic lunch and depart for a tour of the crater floor.

Spend the day within the crater and have lunch at one of the famous picnic spots in the park. In the afternoon you will head to Lake Manyara where you will spend the night.

Day 11: Lake Manyara – Transfer to Tarangire (Approx. 2 hours)

Have breakfast, then depart for Tarangire where you will have a game drive as soon as you arrive till 6p.m. when you check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Overnight: Tarangire Sopa/Maramboi Tented Lodge/Olivers Camp

Day 12: Tarangire – Transfer to Kilimanjaro/Arusha

Have breakfast then depart for Kilimanjaro or Arusha.
