The 7 Days of Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, and Maasai Mara safari is a popular itinerary for those who want to experience the country's diverse wildlife and beautiful landscapes.

The safari typically begins with a visit to Amboseli National Park, where visitors can view large herds of elephants and other wildlife against the stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

From there, the safari proceeds to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake surrounded by lush forests and home to a variety of bird species, hippos, and other wildlife.

Finally, the safari culminates with a visit to the Maasai Mara, one of Africa's most famous wildlife reserves and home to the annual wildebeest migration, and huge numbers of zebras, predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

The Maasai Mara is also home to several Maasai communities. Visitors can learn about their traditional way of life and culture.

Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Transfer to Amboseli, Approx. 4 hours

Be picked from your hotel at 7a.m. and immediately depart for Amboseli to arrive by mid-morning. Check in at the lodge/camp and later enjoy lunch then relax before an afternoon game drive at 3/4 O’clock for 2/3 hours.

Overnight: Praro Amboseli/Ol Tukai Lodge/Tawi Lodge

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 2: Amboseli – Full day, morning and afternoon game drives

This day have a pre-breakfast and afternoon game drive. Afternoon game drive is at 3/4o’clock for 2 hours. The rest of the time is spent in the camp/lodge.

Optional Activities: Balloon ride & Cultural visit

Overnight: Praro Amboseli/Ol Tukai Lodge/Tawi Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 3: Amboseli – Transfer to Lake Naivasha (Approx. 5-6 hours)

Have early breakfast then depart for Lake Naivasha. Afternoon is spent with a boat ride to Crescent Island for a guided walk.

Overnight: Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge/Sawela Lodge/Chui Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Transfer to Maasai Mara, Approx. 4-5 hours

Have breakfast then depart for Maasai Mara to arrive in time for lunch. Have lunch, relax before an afternoon game drive at 3 - 6p.m.

Overnight: Zebra Plains Mara Camp/Olkinyei Mara Tented Lodge/Ilkeliani Camp/Entim Camp/Zebra River Camp

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 5 & 6: Maasai Mara – Full day

On these 2 days, have breakfast then depart for full-day game drives in search of the big five and many other wildlife. There will be picnic lunch along Mara River or a good spot chosen by your guide.

Alternatively,have morning and afternoon game drives with the rest of the day spent at the camp.

Optional activities: Hot air balloon, a visit to Maasai village & guided nature walks

Overnight: Zebra Plains Mara Camp/Olkinyei Mara Tented Lodge/Ilkeliani Camp/Entim Camp/Zebra River Camp

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 7: Maasai Mara – Transfer to Nairobi, Approx. 5 hours

Have breakfast, then depart for Nairobi to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch be dropped off at the hotel.
