Located in Western province, Gishwati is Rwanda’s latest addition to national parks. It consists of two forests – small Mukura and larger Gishwati and sits between Congo and Nile water catchment area.
It is characterized by bamboo forest and hosts up to 20 chimpanzees, serval cats, golden monkeys, genet, over 120 bird species and many plant species.
