Our Nairobi day tours take one to exciting places in and around the city. Places include Nairobi National Park, Giraffe Centre, David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Mamba Village, Kitengela glass factory & Kiambethu Tea Farm. The tours can run from 4 hours to full-day. Here are samples of the day tours, however, one can still adjust them to include other areas at an extra cost.
Nairobi National Park is just a few kilometers from Nairobi’s central business district. Despite its proximity over 50 species of mammals can be found there including four of the Big Five. It is a good place to see rhinos which can be difficult to see in other parks. This tour can happen very early in the morning or late afternoon.
This is a half-day tour which starts with a pick up from your hotel at 9.30/10a.m. and be back by 1 or 2pm. This tour is good for families with young kids as it is a short one. You will visit Giraffe Centre first then Elephant Orphanage which is usually open to the public from 11a.m to noon.
Lunch is optional at an extra cost.
This tour begins with a pick up from your hotel at 9.30 or 10a.m depending on where your hotel is located. Kiambethu tea farm is 45 minutes away from Nairobi. The tour begins at 11a.m with a presentation of history of the farm as you take tea or coffee. After the talk, you will begin the guided walk through the farm. The guide will identify and explain uses of various plants. The farm also hosts Colobus monkeys, birds as well as beautiful flowers.
Walk back for lunch served at around 1p.m. Enjoy the views of the tea fields as you have your lunch. Thereafter, you will be driven back to your hotel or airport.
This is a full-day tour that starts at 6a.m. to be dropped back at 3/4p.m. The tour starts with Nairobi Nation park for 3-4 hours, Elephant Orphanage which is open to the public from 11a.m till noon. Later head for Giraffe Centre which is followed by lunch. Thereafter be dropped off at your hotel or airport.
