Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Chogoria Town – Chogoria Camp

Meet team at 12p.m. at Chogoria Town then, transfer by local jeep to Chogoria gate about 2-hour drive inside the forest. Meals served once camp is set up.

Dinner and rest at Chogoria gate.

Day 2: Chogoria Camp – Lake Elis Camp

Breakfast served at 7.30a.m then hike up the hinder valley and gorger’s valleys. Approximate time of trek is 4 hours up.

Dinner and rest at Lake Elis Campsite

Day 3: Lake Elis Camp – Mintos Camp

Breakfast served at 7.30am. At 8a.m, break camp and head to Mintos Camp. Lunch served between the trek or at camp depending on pace. Approximate time of trek 6 &1/2 hours up .

Day 4:  Mintos Camp – SUMMIT – Shimptons Camp – Old Moses Camp
Early morning wakeup call at 2.30am we attempt point Lenana (4985M) at dawn to catch early sunrise. The trek is approximately 31/2 hours. We descend down to shiptons   camp for breakfast, approx time 1.5hrs,   lunch is served in between the trek approximate trek time 41/2 hrs. Then down further to OLD MOSES CAMP. Approximate trek time 5 1/2hrs.

Dinner and rest at Old Moses Camp

Day 5: Old Moses – Sirimon – Transfer to Samburu (Approx. 3 hours 30 minutes)

Breakfast at 7am, we trek down through the forest 10km distance to the gate where our safari guide will be waiting. Immediately, depart for Samburu passing through the equator line to Samburu land. Arrive with a short game drive en route to the camp for lunch. After lunch, relax before a game drive at 4p.m. Samburu Park has unique residents including the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the Blue legged Somali Ostrich.

Day 6: Samburu – Full day

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in search of unique northern Kenya species such as the reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, and the long-necked gerenuk. Much of the reserve consists of desert landscape; dusty red plains broken by thorny scrub, featuring dramatic views of table top Mt Ol Olokwe on the horizon. All meals are taken at the lodge.

Day 7: Samburu – Transfer to Sweetwaters

Have breakfast at the camp and immediately depart for Sweetwaters. This is a beautiful private game reserve and home to rare species such as Beisa oryx, Rothschild’s giraffe and black rhino. Game drives here reveal the full range of African wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant and hippo. Enjoy a private visit with the tame animals at the wildlife orphanage. Observe chimps at the Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

Overnight: Sweetwaters Tented Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 8: Sweetwaters – Transfer to Lake Nakuru

Leave Sweetwaters after breakfast for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch at the camp. Relax by the pool area band later have a game drive at 4p.m. You will meet great masses of Flamingos not forgetting the endangered white and black rhino found in this park.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 9: Lake Nakuru – Transfer to Lake Naivasha

Have another early morning game drive then return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast head to Lake Naivasha arriving before lunch time. The afternoon will be spent with a boat ride to Crescent Island where you will have a guided walk.

Overnight: Crescent Camp/Lake Naivasha Sopa

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 10: Lake Naivasha – biking and hiking in Hells Gate

This day you will have biking in Hells Gate park and hiking in Hells Gate’s gorges.  There is also climbing of Fischer’s Tower which is optional.

Overnight: Crescent Camp/Lake Naivasha Sopa

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 11: Lake Naivasha – Transfer to Maasai Mara

Have an early breakfast then depart for Maasai Mara to arrive for lunch at the camp. Have lunch then relax before an afternoon game drive at 4o’clock till 6 p.m.

Overnight: Mara Leisure/Ashnil Mara

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 12 & 13: Maasai Mara – Full day game drives

Spend these 2 days with morning and afternoon game drives that lead one to some of Africa’s largest lion prides, herds of zebra, antelopes, buffaloes, wildebeest, giraffes, cheetahs, and hyenas. Accommodations include en suite restroom facilities and secluded verandas.

Alternativelyhave full-day game drives with picnic lunches.

Overnight: Mara Leisure/Ashnil Mara

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 14: Maasai Mara – Transfer to Nairobi

Have breakfast at the camp then check out park and drive to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch. Lunch is served at Carnivore Restaurant or one of your choices. Have a short trip to Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen or do a little shopping for souvenirs at Kazuri Beads. Later be dropped at your Nairobi hotel or airport.
